Another step back

As of about an hour ago, Truman is back on the high-speed oscillating ventilator. He wasn't blowing off enough CO2 on the conventional ventilator. I guess it's back to the beginning on ventilation.

We still don't have any results on the blood cultures.

Kara and Ben, I've been following Truman's blog since seeing mention of your little guy on the i-village boards. I am praying for him and for the two of you for strength thru this time. What a little fighter he is!!

I will be praying for the little guy. What a rough weekend. Sounds like the doctors and nurses are doing a great job being proactive and explaining things to you all. I know how very scary it is though when they get sick and have setbacks. Stay strong - Turman is a fighter and he'll be back on track in no time. I'm impressed that he lasted so long on CPAP being such a little guy still!

My prayers are with you and your family. It's always one step forward THREE steps back with a preemie. My daughter was born at 26 wks but measured 21wks 4 days. She weighed 495 grams. She was born with a MAJOR heart defect and nasal defect. We had many ups and downs. Due to her birth defects and trach we were in the NICU for 6 months. But she is 3 now and is perfect. She is completely normal except in size. You will make it through this!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear of this last bump in the road. He has done so well and hopefully this break on the ventilator will give him the strength to heal everywhere else. He is such a miracle, and I am still amazed at how far he has come.

Hang in there- He is a fighter! You are all in my thoughts and prayers- He surprised everyone by being off the vent for as long as he did- he may be small- but he is a tough little guy- his name fits him well- remember that always- especially on those down dips of that rollercoster ride. Many Blessings- Sara

I've been following Truman's story on your blog since someone posted about it on the Babycenter birth boards last week.

Just wanted to say you're all in my prayers. Hoping this illness moves on quickly and little Truman continues to grow stronger.

I will be sending many prayers your way during this down time on your roller coaster ride. It wont be long until things are looking up again. He was so small for CPAP, my son was a 25 weeker and was a lot bigger then that when he was moved from vent and he failed his first time too... Hang in there. You have a wonderful set of nurses there. They took care of my twins. Be strong for tiny truman.
