Afternoon Update: Saturday, Sept. 23

Truman graduated back to the conventional ventilator this afternoon. His blood gas a few hours after the change looked great. He is also much less swollen today and is starting to look like himself again. Below are a few pictures taken on 9/23.

Although Truman has been intubated again, he has been resting peacefully for the last couple of days. You can see his Kara's hand here, letting him know that she's there.

An afternoon visit from Truman's aunt.

Hi.

You don't know me, and I don't know you, but I came across your site through the babycenter website. From the moment I read of Trumans story and how strong he and you both are, you've touched my heart.

I check back here on a daily basis to see how Truman is doing and you all are in my prayers every day.

I've always believed strongly that God does not give us more than we can handle and often that faith is challenged. It is proven to me in you both. In the strength you have together for your son and in the strength your son has.

Truman is a miracle, a truth in a wild world that we are in God's hands and that he looks over us constantly. Thank you for being so brave to share this story with me and with the rest of the world. I pray that your little man continues to do well and that he grows strong to come home and grow into the greatness that even a total stranger can see he must have inherited from his parents.

God bless

Truman Big Guy, It's your Great Uncle Dan out in Phoenix. I'm looking forward to some swimming lessons...have your Dad and Mom tell you about and of your name sake, he taught your other uncle and aunts how to swim.

Hi there,

I hadn't had a chance to check in for a while (our system at school won't let me in). I am so sorry things have been so rough - but so glad that they seem to be turning around!

You all remain in my prayers. My friends and coworkers ask me about Truman regularly. We are all rooting for you!

Love,
Casey

What a beautiful litle boy! I'm so happy he's off the oscillating vent and onto a regular one. He'll be back on CPAP in no time! Then it's flow cannula and before you know it he'll be completely tube free!! Many prayers for your family!
